Using the humidifier

Allow the heater cylinder to cool
about ten minutes before removing
the reservoir.
The OmniBed servo-humidifier maintains a selected humidity
percentage relative to readings from a humidity sensor in the
infant compartment.
The water reservoir should always be in place when you use
the OmniBed. Always use distilled water to fill the reservoir.
The reservoir holds a little more than a liter of water.
To fill the reservoir, grasp it and push down (A); the reservoir
will tilt open for filling. Fill to the fill line on the heater cylinder,
not the line on the reservoir. Tilt the reservoir back into place.
Use the Humidifier screen on the graphics display to start
humidification and set a desired humidity level. See accessory
options in chapter 1 for a description of how the humidifier
control screen works.
To remove the reservoir, grasp the bottom of the reservoir and
pull it away from the bed, then lower the reservoir down away
from the unit (B). Hold the reservoir under the heater cylinder
for a few seconds to allow the water in the cylinder to drain
back into the reservoir.
Drain the humidifier reservoir when the unit is not in use.
Disinfect the reservoir weekly or after each patient. Refer to
the section “Cleaning and disinfecting individual components”
in chapter 4 for disinfection instructions.
