6.5 Migrating to HC

This section provides important information related to migrating current applications to col-
or. It is assumed that the user has never used HC and wants to benefit from the advantages 
of HC printing offered by Océ HC printers and 

the LCDS-Module

.

6.5.1 I

NKINDEX and CME INK

Current applications can achieve color by introducing an INKINDEX column in the print data 
and by using a corresponding JSL extension. The easiest scenario allows an already 
present font index to be used as an ink index. The advantage is that no modification of the 
print files is necessary, while HC effects can still be produced, e.g., by printing certain fonts 
in HC.

By means of an extension or the introduction of a CME with INK control, HC control can 
also be achieved for suitable applications.

6.5.2 Océ Resource Generators

Océ resource generators enable HC functionality to be integrated into AFP resources. The 
documentation accompanying the relevant resource generators will provide you with infor-
mation about functionality.
