Quick Start - Installing and configuring printers

A29247-X30-X-9-70 US

The functionality is available for printer configured with PJL bidirectional.

With this feature, it's possible to leave the printer in the status "Active". This will
have several consequences depending of the printer behaviour:

In a no "Support Multiple PJL Jobs" mode:

When PRISMAspool receives the PJL message that the job is cancelled, it aborts
the job. The connection will be closed but the printer will remain in the status "Ac-
tive". Next waiting job could be started and a connection will be established at this
time. This also will depend on operator actions on the printer and the status on of
the printer itself. Prefer this option if you have to activate this feature.

In a "Support Multiple PJL Jobs" mode:

When PRISMAspool receives the PJL message that the job is cancelled, it aborts
the job. The connection will not be closed and next waiting jobs could be sent to the
printer. PRISMAspool also continues the follow up of the already full sent jobs. This
behaviour supposes that the printer keeps the connection intact and continues to
print all received jobs. If the printer initiates itself the closure of the connection (de-
pending on the operator action on the printer), PRISMAspool will be unable to make
a correct follow up for next jobs and all full sent job will hang in the status "OUTPUT
CONTROL" status.
