PART 4- RECONNECTING THE RETURN SYSTEM
Once the drive straps have been replaced and the return strap set with the correct number of turns, the
return bungy rigging frame is ready to be connected and reinserted into the drive arm.
Disconnect the brace arm and fold back in the drive arm until it locks into position.
Run the return strap through the fingers from the spool pulley to the outer end to maintain zero twist in
the return strap.
Place the return bungy rigging frame onto the frame top and thread the open end of the return strap
through the block pulley. Maintaining zero twist on the return strap, insert the open end of the return
strap into the return tensioner.
Carefully insert the return bungy rigging plate into the arm checking that the drive strap is clear and
above the rigging plate and zero twist remains on the return strap.
Locate the bolt on the outer end of the rigging plate through the hole on the underside of the drive arm
and replace the lock nut. Insert the bolt through the underside of the drive arm and rigging plate at the
frame end and replace the lock nut. Tighten both nuts to secure the return bungy rigging frame in place.
Visually check by looking inside down the drive arm to see if there is any twist in the return strap that was
previously not noticed. If this check finds a twist in the return strap disconnect the open end from the
return tensioner and rotate the strap in the right direction to remove the twist and then reconnect to the
return tensioner.
With a 6mm Allen key inserted into the return tensioner bolt underneath the frame plate, wind the return
strap onto the return tensioner until there is approximately 7 turns of the return strap around the return
tensioner.
Fold out the drive arm into the operational position with the brace arm connected.
