The followings describe the procedures for setting up the
packet transmission dial-up connection without using the
FOMA PC setup software.

Confirming the COM Port
To make settings of packet transmission access points
(APN), you need to specify a COM port number of “FOMA
L601i Modem” that is specified after installation of the
transmission setup files. This section explains the
procedures for confirming the COM port number. The
COM port number is used for specifying access point
name (APN) (P29).
• If you use DoCoMo’s internet connection service
“mopera U”, you do not need to confirm the COM port
because setting of access point name (APN) is not
required.
Access Point Names (APN) and Registration
Numbers (cid)
For connection of packet transmission, access point
names (APN) are used instead of ordinary telephone
numbers.
• Access point names (APN) are registered on the FOMA
phone from a personal computer. The access point
names are registered with registration numbers (cid) 1 to
10, and the registration numbers (cid) are used in a part
of connecting destination number as follows:
<Example: A connection number with registration
number (cid) “1”>

• “mopera.net” (Access point name (APN) for “mopera U”)
is set to cid3 at purchase.
