Device view
The device view visually indicates the operating status of the various units
and ports in the hardware configuration. You can also use the device view
to perform management tasks on specific objects.
"Objects in the device view" (page 44)
shows an example of a typical device
view.

Selecting objects
The types of objects contained in the device view are:
•
a stand-alone switch (called a unit in the menus and dialog boxes)
•
a switch stack (called a chassis in the menus and dialog boxes)
•
a port (in this example, the active port, or port object, is green but the
user can select any port)
