Before You Begin
Before beginning the configuration, be sure you:
• Connect the NAP to a power source
• Connect a console to the NAP
These procedures are explained in CHAPTER 2, Installing the
Hardware.
If you are using a computer to perform the initial configuration, you must
also:
• Launch a terminal emulation program (such as HyperTerminal) to
establish communication with the NAP.
• Use the system startup procedure to begin configuring the NAP.
System startup is part of the IPSO software that is built into the IP100.
When you connect with the NAP for the first time, the NAP comes up in
system startup mode.
Use system startup to perform the following operations, which are
explained in the following sections:
1.
Enter a hostname
2.
Enter an administrative password
3.
Enter a browser type
4.
Enter initial interface information
5.
Confirm or change the information you entered
After completing these steps, use the Voyager web-based configuration
program to complete configuration of the IP100 Series NAP.
