Center the Epi-illumination lamp
For the Epi-fl attachment using the mercury lamp as the light source for Epi-fl microscopy,
centering is required each time the lamp is replaced. See the manual “Nikon Super High Pressure
Mercury Lamp Power Supply” or “High-intersity Light Source” to center the lamp.
Be cautious when handling the lamp due to its characteristics such as emitting harmful
ultraviolet rays. Carefully read safety precautions at the top of this manual and be sure to keep
them.

Safety check
This product uses class IIIb lasers. The laser is harmful light. Accidental exposure of eyes or skin
to laser light may result in injury or other problems if laser light is irradiated through any
opening other than the objective. Be sure to execute the following safety check every time
before emitting the laser:
•
A TV camera or dust-proof cap is in place on each of the ports on the microscope.
•
An objective or dust-proof cap is in place on each of the sockets of the nosepiece of the
microscope.
•
The fiber is securely fixed.
•
The Epi-illumination lamphouse is attached.
•
The cassette holder is attached. (Its lid is also closed.)
•
Do not remove any parts such as the objective, filter cube, lamphouse, and optical fiber
during operation.
