Trouble Symptom
Possible Cause
Way of Removal
Program message:
“USB transfer error. Check
the connection and restart
the system”.
The system was
disconnected during the
recording or failed when
exchanging data through
USB.
Check the connection of
the
Neuro-Audio
digital
system and restart the signal
recording. If it fails, restart
the computer.
Program message:
“Install Service Pack 1 for
operation under Windows XP”.
The first version of Windows
XP installed in your PC
contains errors that result in
the improper operation of
USB devices.
Install Windows XP Service
Pack 1, or later version of
Windows (preferable).
There is high supply-line noise
in the recorded signal
(frequency – 50 (60) Hz or
divisible to it – 100 (120) Hz,
150 (180) Hz, etc.).
The electrodes not used at
the moment are connected to
the amplifier (i.e. these
electrodes are not applied on
a patient and cause noise).
Disconnect the electrodes
you do not use from
the amplifier.
The electrodes are placed on
a patient improperly.
Start the impedance
measurement and obtain
the accepted values. If there
are defects of electrodes (for
example, their break), replace
them.
Bad grounding of
the system.
Ground the computer safely.
Ask the electrician to check
the quality of tripolar sockets
and the integrity of protective
ground circuit.
The presence of powerful
noise sources (X-ray
equipment,
physiotherapeutic room,
powerful refrigerating
systems, electric motors,
electric welding, etc.).
Try to switch off or move off
these powerful devices
farther away. If it is
impossible, try to obtain
better grounding parameters
of the system.
Program message:
“Processing error. The system
is overloaded. Please, restart”.
The processor was
overloaded and failed to
receive data from the
system. If this message
appears rarely (not more
than 1-2 times a day), it is
not considered as trouble.
Close all applications except
the
Neuro-Audio.NET
program (if they are running)
and restart the recording. If it
doesn't work, restart
the computer. If the trouble
does not disappear, then,
probably, the processing
speed of your PC is not
enough. The minimal
requirements for PC are
given in the user manual.
There is no stimulus when the
recording is started.
The stimulation device (OAE
probe, headphones, etc.) is
not connected (or connected
unreliably) to the stimulator
unit.
Make sure that
the stimulation device is
connected to the stimulator
unit in a proper way.
The connection between
stimulator and PC is broken.
Execute
Setup|Hardware
reset
menu command and
restart. If it fails, restart
the computer.
