Setting the Envelope Support Wedge for Other Envelope Types
The following examples illustrate suggested wedge positions for several different envelope sizes. When running
standard envelopes, i.e., #10, 6 x 9, greeting card envelopes, the wedge should be positioned as shown in steps 4
and 5 above.
Larger envelopes require a different approach with the wedge. These envelopes, i.e., 9” x 12” or 10” x 13” tend to
“sag” downward in the middle when supported in the front by the feed belts and the back by the wedge. This
“sagging” can result in miss-feeds and inconsistent production. This can be remedied by positioning the wedge
underneath the stack of envelopes rather than at the back edge as with standard envelopes. This is illustrated
below:
As with the separators, some experimentation would be helpful to obtain the best results
