Disk Operations
This server duplexes disks to secure data by using software. This section describes operations such as
configuration of dual settings to disks and replacement of disks.
Important
•
It is recommended to create only system partitions on the hard disk drive
containing the OS.
•
When you create a partition other than system partitions on the disk containing
the OS, note the following:
If you reinstall the OS, the entire area of disk will be cleared. If there is any data
partition other than the system partition, the data must be backed up before
reinstalling the OS.
•
If you remove the hard disk drive from the system and then insert it, wait a 30
seconds or more after remove it.

Available Disk Configuration
RAID must be configured for all the internal hard disk drives in this server. As shown in the table below, the
internal hard disk drive redundancy is configured by software RAID with the internal hard disk drives of
corresponding slots.
