9-30 Upgrading Your Server
Cooling Fan Unit
Two cooling fan units (front and rear) are factory-installed in your server. By installing optional
redundant fan unit (containing three fans), your server can contain up to five cooling fans for
cooling the CPU, memory, and PCI devices. With optional redundant cooling fan unit, the server
can continue operation even if one of the fan units is defected.
IMPORTANT:
Be sure to ask your service representative for replacement of
cooling fan unit if any of them is faulty.
N8181-58 Redundant fan unit cannot be installed together with
N8104-402 water-cooling heat sink.
