Powering-On the Phone
Turning the Phone On

Press and
HOLD
END
to turn on the phone.
After the powering on process, the screen displays the selected greeting and then displays
the Idle screen.
If you receive a prompt for your PIN code or security code, input the necessary code using
the keypad (refer to page 23).
Turning the Phone Off

Press and
HOLD
END
until it powers down.
The power down screen displays the NEC High Definition Mobile graphic and the phone
powers Off.
After powering off or turning the wireless phone off, you must wait three seconds before
powering on.
Language Display
If the display is showing any language other than your own, proceed as follows:

MENU
(Main) to display the Main Menu. Press

to display the Language
screen.
Press the appropriate key to select the desired language.
Press END to return to the Idle screen.
Frequency Bands
The type of frequency band that you use depends upon your location.

to display Band screen.
Press

to select the 850/1900 frequency band if you are located in the United States or
press
2
to select the 1800 frequency band if you are located in Europe. Press
3
for the
wireless phone to automatically search and select the available frequency. The selected
setting is saved. Press Softkey2 (Back) to return to the Network menu.

Do not remove the battery
to turn your phone Off as
this may cause loss of
stored information.

The phone supports the
languages and the
keyboard symbols have
been chosen for
world-wide operation.
