Phonebook
To access Phonebook option of the Main Menu,

Press MENU (Main) and 5 to display the Phone book menu or press MENU (Main),
highlight and select the Phonebook option 5.
Press the Phonebook option number ( 1 through 3 ) or highlight and select the desired
option.
The shortcut key to access a phonebook list or directory,

Press BOOK to display a phonebook list.
Continue to press BOOK until the preferred phonebook list displays.
The name of the phonebook type displays at the top of the list in the title bar. If more than one
phone number and/or Email address exists for one particular contact, use the RIGHT and LEFT
navigation keys to cycle through the numbers and Email addresses. Also, Softkey1 (Send)
allows you to send a message to the selected contact. SEND (off-hook) initiates a phone call to
the currently displayed number.
Press Softkey 2 (Back) or CLR key to return to the previous screen. Press END to exit the
screen and return to the Idle screen.
The Lists menu (option 1) provides a menu of the 7 phonebook types available in the NEC
535M.
The Information Numbers (option 2) are dependent on the SIM card. The option is disabled
(grayed out) if it is not supported by the SIM card.
The Call records provides a menu of the 5 call logs (Missed calls, Received calls, Dialed calls,
the Last call duration, andTtotal calls duration).
When the phone is powered On, the sorting process of the phonebook is run in the background.
If you immediately access the phonebook after powering On, you can only use
Softkey 1 (Call)
to call a number in the Phone phonebook during the sorting process. If you press BOOK to view
another phonebook type, the busy icon displays. When the sorting process is completed, the
Softkey 2 (Add New) and MENU (Options Menu) display on the screen showing that the
phonebook types are available for viewing, editing, adding new entries, and all other phonebook
functions.
