Select Monitor
lets you select the type of monitor
(color or monochrome) the system is using. You must
select a monitor type before you select an emulation
mode (see below). Select color if you intend to enable
CGA mode, or monochrome for Hercules mode.
Select Emulation Mode enables or disables CGA or
Hercules (HGC) modes (required by some software
packages).

Screen Saver
lets you enable or disable the screen
saver included with the utilities.
Because the screen saver relies on signals from the
keyboard, it is not recommended to use the screen
saver if you use the following kinds of software: soft-
ware that uses a mouse more extensively than the
keyboard, Microsoft Windows, games or other appli-
cations that use a joystick.
If you are using the screen saver and the screen goes
blank while you are using the keyboard, or striking a
key does not return an image to the screen after it has
gone blank, then try the following: restore the screen
by pressing the NUM LOCK key, exit the program (ii
possible), or reboot the system. Disable the screen
saver and run the program again.
Pure Mode
enables or disables the VGA extended
modes. If Pure VGA mode is enabled, all VGA exten-
sions are disabled.
Exit
returns you to
a
DOS prompt.
