 Ergonomic Refresh Rates

The VGA controller is capable of displaying many

resolutions with a refresh rate (vertical scan rate) of 72
Hz, and can display some modes as high as 78 Hz.

These refresh rates eliminate almost all monitor flicker

detectable by the human eye. If your monitor is capa-
ble of using the higher refresh rates, you can use the

ALTPARM utility (described in Section 2, Chapter 2) to

change the display mode to one of those listed below.

 Do not attempt to set a refresh rate that

your monitor is not capable of producing. Check the

 that came with your monitor for details.
