Relocating or transporting the printer
3.8.1
Relocating the printer
It is most likely that the printer has to be relocated to another place within the firm. Follow the
procedure below to ensure no ink is leaking out of the printer and no mechanical objects get
broken during the transfer.

Switch OFF the printer.

Remove all cables.
ͬ»° ïæ
Lock the carriage with the special bracket that comes with a new unit. If you have
lost the bracket, you can use tape so that the carriage can no longer move.

Take out all ink cassettes and replace them with dummy cassettes.
Dummy cassettes can be ordered at your Mutoh distributor.

Empty the waste bottle.
ͬ»°ëæ
Clamp all waste tubings. Clamps can be ordered at Mutoh distributor
ͬ»°êæ
Secure all the covers which can be opened with tape. Use a tape that does not
leave any glue marks after removal.
ͬ»°éæ
If transporting the unit on its stand, secure all bars of the Unwinder / Winder 100
with tape.
ͬ»°èæ
Remove the waste bottle or secure it with tape.
ͬ»°çæ
Tape the cassettes to the printer to fix them during the transfer.
ͬ»°ïðæ
Turn in all levelling feet of both the printer as unwinder/winder 100.
3.8.2
Transporting the printer
Please follow the procedure below to prepare your printer to be transported to another
location, such as an exhibition or other company.
Replacing ink with shipping liquid
To ensure that no ink is spoiled during transport all ink should be replaced with shipping liquid
as follows:

Be sure that the waste bottle is empty.

Power ON the printer.
ͬ»° íæ
Remove the ink cassettes.
