Clutches/Belt
Signs of Worn Clutches and/or Belt
• Omits a high pitched squealing noise, and the driveline is slipping.
Note:
This can also occur if the belt is wet, if so
then simply dry off.
• Vehicle is revving out while driving slowly or takes off slowly but does reach its top speed. This is caused by worn
clutch springs or a stretched belt not allowing the CVT system to “shift.”
• Vehicles does not move at all. Most likely a broken belt.
• Vehicle struggles to drive up hills or under load within its capacities.
Note:
Attempting to drive overloaded will put
stress on the drive belt, causing it to smoke and glaze over, similar to smoking a clutch in an automobile. It must
be immediately replaced.
Clutch Inspection
There are (2) clutches, one on the engine “A” (drive) and the other on the transmission “B” (driven). They should
be in clean, smooth condition. If there is any rust, pitting, scaring or chunks of metal missing, replace immediately.
Various clutch part numbers are installed in Vengeance depending on equipped engine and accessories.
