under
Accessing the Mudd-Ox
to remove the front lower operator seat.
2. Pull up on the parking brake lever and count the number clicks (Figure-1):
A. More than 5-6 clicks: The cables are too loose. You must tighten them.
B. Less than 5-6 clicks: The cables are too tight. You must loosen them.

3. Start with the left side brake cable. Use a 15/16” wrench:
A. More than 5-6 clicks: Loosen the jam nut closest to the front of the Mudd-Ox (E in Figure-6).
B. Less than 5-6 clicks: Loosen the jam nut closest to the rear of the Mudd-Ox (F in Figure-6).
4. Then, use the same wrench to tighten the opposing jam nut. This action will pull effectively reduce the amount
of slack in the cable. Tighten the nut until cable has little slack, but not so tight that it’s engaging the brake cal-
iper (Figure-6).
A. More than 5-6 clicks: Tighten the jam nut closest to the rear of the Mudd-Ox (F in Figure-6).
B. Less than 5-6 clicks: Loosen the jam nut closest to the front of the Mudd-Ox (E in Figure-6).
5. Now simply tighten the jam nut that you loosened in step #3. This will keep the cable secured in place. At this
point, both jam nuts should be tight.
6. Repeat steps #3-5 for the right side.
Note:
Adjust the same amount as the left side. It’s best to use a tape mea-
sure on the threads (Figure-7) to verify both sides are adjusted evenly.
