Cause
Corrective action
The charge-air controller
attempts to set a set value but
has reached the lower limit. The
EGR shutoff flap (M53) is fully
closed.The donor flap (M55) is
fully open.
1. Check operation of donor flap (→ Page 122).
2. Contact Service.
959 – AL Lambda ctrlvar max BOI min act
Cause
Corrective action
Emission-related alarm.
The fault indicates high
probability of serious soot
deposits in the EGR cooler
(sooting). However, this can also
be caused by a mechanical
defect in the exhaust flap before
the cooler and/or donor flap
(linkage broken, but servomotor
electrically OK). A signal error of
the lambda sensor can also
result in this alarm.
1. Check operation of EGR shutoff flap and donor flap
(→ Page 122).
2. Contact Service.
960 – AL NOx p5 min BOI max active
Cause
Corrective action
Emission-related alarm.
The charge-air pressure has
reached the minimum value
defined in the performance map.
The shift to early start of
injection has reached its
maximum value.
1. Check operation of bypass flap (→ Page 122).
2. Contact Service.
961 – AL NOx p5 max BOI min active
Cause
Corrective action
Emission-related alarm.
The fault indicates high
probability of serious soot
deposits in the EGR cooler
(sooting).
The charge-air pressure has
reached the maximum value
defined in the performance map.
The retardation of the start of
injection has reached its
maximum value.
