4.4 Starting the engine in manual mode
Preconditions

Engine is not under load.

External start interlock is not activated.
DANGER
Rotating, moving engine parts.
Risk of crushing! Risk of body parts being caught or drawn in!
• Before barring with the starting system, make sure that no one is in the danger zone of the en-
gine.
WARNING
Loud engine noises with the engine running:
Risk of hearing damage!
• Wear ear protection.

Starting the engine

1. If there is a coolant preheater, make sure that the coolant temperature >
40 °C (see manufacturer's documentation).
2. Press the start key (see plant documentation).
• Automatic starting sequence is executed.
• Engine speed instrument indicates increasing speed.
• After the starting sequence is completed, engine runs at idle speed.
