7.13.2 Engine oil – Change
Preconditions
☑ Engine is stopped and starting disabled.
☑ Engine is at operating temperature.
☑ MTU Fluids and Lubricants Specifications (A001061/..) are available.

Hot oil.
Oil can contain combustion residues which are harmful to health.
Risk of injury and poisoning!
• Wear protective clothing, gloves, and goggles / safety mask.
• Avoid contact with skin.
• Do not inhale oil vapor.
Version with extraction equipment: Extracting engine oil
1.
Position a suitable container to drain the engine oil into.
2.
Extract all engine oil from oil pan using the extraction equipment.
Filling with new engine oil
1.
Determine amount of engine oil required for
oil change (→ Product Summary - Technical
Data).
2.
Open cover on filler neck.
3.
Fill engine oil through filler neck up to
“max.” mark on oil dipstick.
4.
Close cover on filler neck.
5.
Check engine oil level (→ Page 94).
6.
After oil change, bar engine with starting
system.
