Fault Possible cause Solution
Data is not getting updated. The wiring of the CAN bus
is defective. Check the CAN bus wiring (see
section
CAN Bus Wiring on
page 35) and correct any defects
found.
The remote device is not
sending any data (for
example if it is defective
or the software has
crashed). Check the connected device and
fix the problems.
The binary outputs are not
switching. The binary outputs are
not activated. Activate the binary outputs (see
section
Devices on page 51).
The binary outputs are
incorrectly wired. Check the wiring of the binary
outputs (see section
Binary
Inputs/Outputs on page 42).
The symbol appears in the
Add Device dialog next to
devices.
The device type has not
been activated. Activate the device type with an
activation code (see section
Device Type Activation on
page 52).
When tapping on a device in
the
Start Menu , you get one
of the following error
messages:
– "The hardware ID of the
connected device is
invalid."
– "Vendor ID or product
code not valid."
The wiring of the CAN bus
is defective. Check the CAN bus wiring (see
section
CAN Bus Wiring on
page 35) and correct any defects
found.
The bit rate of the con-
nected device does not
correspond to the bit rate
of the PowerView3. Change the bit rate of the con-
nected device (see section
Connection on page 60).
In the PowerView3, the
connected device has
been assigned the wrong
node ID. In the PowerView3, set the correct
node ID for the connected device
(see section
Devices on page 51).
