INPUT
Configure Sensor Types:
Select the Configure Sensors this will enable to configure Sensor 1 and Sensor 2 as follows:
Refer to Figure 5.26.
Sensor 1 INPUT and Type Selection:
-Resistance:
1. From the
Input
Drop-down Menu select either
2 Wire Resistance, 3 Wire
Resistance,
or
4 Wire Resistance
Connection.
2. From the
Type
Drop-down Menu Select a Resistance value from
4k, 2k, 1k, 500, 250,
or
125 ohms
.
3. Sensor 2 can also be configured in the same manner.
-mV:
1. From the
Input
Drop-down Menu select Millivolts.
2. From the
Type
Drop-down Menu choose from
1k, 500, 250, 125, 62.5,
or
31.25 mV
3. Sensor 2 can also be configured in the same manner.
-Potentiometer:
1. From the
Input
Drop-down Menu select
Potentiometer
.
2. From the
Type
Drop-down Menu select either
4k, 2k, 1k, 500, 250,
or
125 ohms
3. Sensor 2 can also be configured in the same manner.
-RTD:
1. From the
Input
Drop-down Menu select either
2 Wire, 3 Wire,
or
4 Wire Connection
Configuration.
2. From the
Type
Drop-down Menu select desired RTD.
4. Sensor 2 can also be configured in the same manner.
-T/C:
1. From the
Input
Drop-down Menu select either
Thermocouple (with RJC)
, or
Thermocouple (no RJC)
. Select TC (no RJC) ONLY if you are using a rare and old
remote reference junction wiring strategy.

Type
Drop-down Menu select desired T/C.

Sensor 2 can also be configured in the same manner.
Sensor 2 INPUT and Type Selection:
1. You can choose to have Sensor 2 in “Not Used” mode and the parameters will be
greyed out. You also can configure Sensor 2 in the same manner as Sensor 1.
Note:
While the THZ
3
/TDZ
3
will accept a dual input sensor configuration the following
limitations apply only when using two input sensors:

2-wire and/or 3-wire sensors. 4-wire sensors (RTDs) cannot be used.

(see figure 3.2) - 2-wire and/or 3-wire sensors. 4-wire sensors (RTDs) cannot be
used.
