CHAPTER 3: USING ISA SERIES PROGRAMMING FUNCTIONS
ISA-4001CR INVERTER POWER SUPPLY
990-364
3-3
CTRL –
This entry is used to designate one of the following five welding current control modes.
0
PRIMARY RMS
Primary constant-current effective value control
1
SECONDARY RMS
Secondary constant-current effective value control
2
POWER RMS
Secondary constant-power effective value control
3
PRIMARY LIMIT
Primary constant-current peak value control
4
FIXED PULSE
Constant-phase control
TIME
– This entry is used to set the time for each operation during the welding. The unit of time is either
ms or cycle (CYC). To switch from the ms mode to the cycle (CYC) mode, go to the Mode Select
screen (selected from the Main screen), and select
CYCLE WELD ON
.
CYCLE WELD OFF
will change the
mode back to the ms mode.
SQD
Squeeze Delay Time
Length of time between receipt of the start signal (FS1 or FS1/FS2) and the start of the
SQZ period. It allows adequate time for positioning of parts to be welded.
SQZ
Squeeze Time
Length of time between SQD and WE1. This allows for electrode pressure to build
before weld current is applied.
WE1
Weld 1 Time
Length of time welding current is applied.
COOL
Cooling Time
Length of time for work piece to cool between end of Weld 1 current and start of Weld
2 current.
WE2
Weld 2 Time
Length of time welding current is applied.
HOLD
Hold Time
Length of time a work piece is held after end of Weld current.
OFF
Off Time
Length of time to turn off signal during repeated operation. In normal operation, the
valves turn off after the Hold time.
UPSLOPE –
This entry is used to set the time for the upslope of Weld 1 and Weld 2. The Upslope time
is included in Weld time.
DOWNSLOPE
– This entry is used to set the time for the downslope of Weld 1 and Weld 2. The
Downslope time is included in Weld time.
HEAT
– This entry is used to set the welding current of Weld 1 and Weld 2. The unit of measurement is
dependent on the method of control (CTRL), as follows:
Primary RMS
kA
Secondary RMS
kA
Power RMS
kW
Primary limit
kA
Fixed pulse
%
PULSATION
– This entry is used to set the number of repeats of the Weld 2 operation (see
Appendix C,
System Timing
).
