l

Even  if  an  S-AWC  drive  mode  other  than
“AUTO” was selected before turning the ig-
nition switch to the “LOCK” position or put-
ting the operation mode in OFF, the SAWC
drive mode will be set to “AUTO” when the
ignition  switch  is  turned  to  the  “ON”  posi-
tion  or  the  operation  mode  is  put  in  ON
again.

l

The drive mode can be switched while driv-
ing or stopped.

S-AWC drive mode display

Example: “AUTO” mode is selected.
 
The  currently  selected  drive  mode  is  dis-
played on the multi-information display.
In addition, when the drive mode is changed,
the  selected  mode  appears  on  the  interrupt
display  screen  of  the  information  screen  in
the multi-information display.
The drive mode display will appear on the in-
formation screen for a few seconds, and then
the original screen will return.

CAUTION

l

If the selected drive mode indicator is blink-
ing,  the  drive  mode  switches  automatically
to protect the drive-system components.
The warning display is also displayed in the
information  screen  in  the  multi  information
display.

Reduce  speed,  and  if  the  indicator  goes  out
after  driving  a  while,  resume  driving  as  be-
fore.

If  the  drive  mode  indicator  is  blinking,  a
problem has occurred with the S-AWC sys-
tem and the safety device has activated. The
warning  display  is  also  displayed  in  the  in-
formation  screen  in  the  multi-information
display.

Have your vehicle inspected immediately by
a MITSUBISHI MOTORS Authorized Serv-
ice Point.

CAUTION

l

Be sure to use tyres that are the same speci-
fied  size,  type,  and  brand,  and  have  no  dif-
ference  in  the  amount  of  wear  for  all  four
wheels.  Otherwise,  the  S-AWC  system  may
not work properly.

S-AWC operation display

The  S-AWC  operation  status  can  be  dis-
played on the information screen in the multi-
information display.
To  display  the  status,  press  the  multi-infor-
mation display switch to change the informa-
tion screen.
Refer to “Information screen (when the igni-
tion switch or the operation mode is ON)” on
page 5-05
