Connection example for CN8 connector
This drive unit is equipped with the connector (CN8) which enables the STO function. When this connector is used with a
certified external safety relay, power to the motor can be safely removed and unexpected restart can be prevented. The safety
relay used should meet the applicable safety standards and have forcibly guided contacts or mirror contacts for the purpose of
error detection.
The following diagram is for source interfaces. For sink interfaces, refer to the following.
*1 With TOFB, whether the servo is in the STO state can be confirmed. Refer to the following for a connection example.

The safety level depends on the setting value of [Pr. PF18 STO diagnosis error detection time] and whether STO input diagnosis by
TOFB output is performed or not. For details, refer to [Pr. PF18] in the following manual.
MR-J5-G/MR-J5W-G User's Manual (Parameters)
*2 When using the STO function, turn off STO1 and STO2 at the same time. Also, before turning off STO1 and STO2, stop the servo motor
in the servo-off state or with forced stop deceleration by turning off EM2 (Forced stop 2).
*3 Configure the interlock circuit so that the door opens after the servo motor stops.
