SUBNET MASK
This number combined with your IP address is used to identify the
network where your computer is located. The value of each field of a
subnet mask must be a number from 0 to 255.
DEFAULT GATEWAY
This sets the default gateway (a connection or interchange point that
connects two networks that are otherwise incompatible).
NETWARE
When enabled (ON), this setting allows for the transfer of data via
IPX/SPX.
NETWARE FRAME
Specifies a NetWare frame type. A frame type is automatically
selected when AUTO is enabled.
APPLE TALK
When enabled (ON), this setting allows for the transfer of data via
Apple Talk.
IO TIMEOUT
An
IO Timeout
occurs when the printer cannot detect the final data
code for a print job that was sent from the network interface card.
The
IO Timeout
setting acts as a timer that allows the printer a spec-
ified period of time in which to determine if a document has finished
printing or not.
If an
IO Timeout
occurs when the
PCL
setting is enabled, all data
that still remains inside of the printer is output and the printer
returns to the READY mode. When the
PS
setting is enabled, all
data that remains inside of the printer is erased and the printer
returns to the READY mode.
Note
• Whenever the Network Menu settings are changed, be sure to restart
the printer (power off/on).
