but it 
doesn’t

is displayed in the

Handle according to the message 
displayed. 

The transfer belt 
installation guide is 
not set correctly in 
the installation rail.

Remove the transfer belt. Place the 
front end of the intermediate transfer 
unit installation guide (2 locations) 
correctly in the installation rail. Next, 
lightly push in the unit. Carefully insert 
the transfer belt about 6 inches (152.4 
mm). Let go with your right hand that 
was holding the top handle of the trans-
fer belt, hold the front handle with both 
hands, and carefully push in. 

Data 
indicator 
stays on.

Too many type-
faces are being 
downloaded at the 
same time.

Make sure you have enough printer 
memory.

Printer 
resets.

Occasionally, soft-
ware applications 
interfere with each 
other. 

Some applications send a printer prep 
file to the printer at the beginning of 
each document. When this occurs, 
other prep files cannot be sent without 
resetting the printer. Monitor your 
activities to see if there is a correlation 
between your use of a certain 
application and the printer resetting. If 
so, contact the application developer.

Downloading too 
many typefaces 
can overload the 
printer memory and 
cause the printer to 
reset to default. 

Additional memory (RAM) or a hard 
drive, which can be used for font 
storage, is available and easily 
installed.
