Theory of Operation

Overview
The monitor:
Measures and displays the physiological parameters of the patient, and
supports the review, storage and printing of the measured data.
Provides audible and visual alarm indications in case of patient or equipment
problems.
Incorporates multiple input devices such as buttons, knob, and touchscreen.
Enables software upgrade over the network.
The monitor and its peripherals form a system. Main functions of the monitor in the
system are as follows:
Supports features such as physiological parameter monitoring, alarm, and data
review;
Supports recorder output;
Supports the nurse call signal;
Supports connection via Wi-Fi and wired networks for other bed browsing and
CMS communication;
Supports external AC power supply and battery; and
Supports clinical data collection via USB flash drive.
