6.3 Sterilization/Disinfection
Sterilization or disinfection may, to a certain degree, damage the Pulse
Oximeter and SpO
2
sensor. It is not recommended unless stipulated as
necessary in the Hospital Maintenance Schedule. Cleaning is
recommended before sterilization or disinfection.
Recommended disinfection materials:
ethylate, and acetaldehyde.
The SpO

70% isopropanol solution. Active reagents are also effective for this
purpose. Do not immerse the cable connector into the
above-mentioned solutions.
Caution
Dilute the solution per manufacture instructions or adopt
concentration as low as possible.
Clear of the device’s surface of residual solution immediately with
wet cloth.
Do not use EtO or formaldehyde for this purpose.
Do not sterilize or disinfect the device under high pressure or high
temperature.
6.4 Disposal
To avoid contaminating or infecting personnel, the environment or other
equipment, make sure you disinfect or decontaminate the device
appropriately before disposing of it in accordance with your country’s
law for equipment containing electrical and electronic parts. For SpO
