Cancel with fault number
If a program is cancelled and a fault number appears, e.g.
Fault XXX
(where XXX represents
a number), there could be a serious technical fault.
In the event of a program being cancelled and a fault number being shown:
Switch the machine off using the
button.
Wait approximately 10 seconds before switching the machine on again with the
button.
Acknowledge the fault number by entering your PIN code.
Start the previously selected program again.
If the same error message appears again:
Make a note of the error message.
Switch the machine off using the
button.

Problem
Possible cause and solution
Fault 403-405
A program has been canceled because water intake by the
machine was insufficient or severely restricted.
Turn on the faucets fully.
Follow the further information provided in the
Check
water intake
message.
Fault 406–408
A program was cancelled because the water flow rate is
insufficient.
Check whether the faucets are fully open.
Refer to the information regarding minimum flow
pressure in “Connection to the water supply” and
“Technical data”.
Check the filter in the water inlet.

Fault 412–414
A program was cancelled because the water flow rate is
too high.
Refer to the information regarding recommended
maximum flow pressure and maximum permissible static
water pressure in “Connection to the water supply” and
“Technical data”.
Contact Miele Service for advice.
Fault 422
The salt supply in the water softener has been used up.
Reactivation is no longer possible. The machine will be
locked for further use with the next reactivation.
Refill with reactivation salt.
