8.1.
Warehousing
Warehousing is defined as the storage of the power generator in a not-operational state without time
limit. For this purpose, preservation work and checks at regular intervals are required. Storage
in weather-protected conditions is described below. For warehousing under different conditions,
please contact our service representatives.
•
Perform all necessary maintenance and cleaning operations as described in the
<Maintenance> chapter.
•
Empty the fuel tank completely.
•
Perform an oil change.
•
Remove the spark plug.
•
Pour 10 cm³ of engine oil through the opening into each of the cylinders.
•
Use the hand starter to slowly cycle the engine several times.
•
Screw the spark plug back in.
•
Close the suction inlet of the air filter and the exhaust outlet and make them air-tight.
•
Remove the battery.
•
Store the battery according to the instructions and check the level of charge every 2 months.
Recharge it as necessary.
•
Preserve all surfaces with preserving agents.
•
Protect the power generator against dust and moisture.
•
Comply with the maximum storage temperature as shown on the rating plate.
•
Protect the power generator against access by unauthorised persons and children.
•
When removing the generator from storage, comply with the instructions for initial start-up and
perform the daily checks before staring up.
