5.6.1. Starting

Danger of body parts being pulled in
• Keep the device covers closed.
• When working on the device, switch the engine off.
Switch the engine off
Provide first aid in accordance with guidelines and/or notify first responders
NOTE
Before starting the power generator, perform the tests that must be done before putting into
operation. In particular, check:
•
- Engine oil level
•
- Fuel level
•
- Correct connection of the consumers
• Switch the fuel tap (21-8 respectively 21-18) to either the integral tank or, when fitted, the exter-
nal fuel supply system.
• Switch the automatic circuit-breakers on.
• Turn the main switch (22-12) to the “I” position
5.6.2. Electrical start-up
NOTE
If the engine does not fire within 5 seconds, release the main switch and wait at least 10 seconds
before attempting again to start the engine.
If the electric starter is run for longer than 5 seconds this will lead to the starter overheating and
possible damage
• There is no need to set the choke since this is operated automatically.
• Turn the main switch to the “Start” position and hold it there until the engine fires.
• Switch the connected consumers on.
