5.3.
Prerequisites for trouble-free operation
5.3.1.
Fuel specification
The fuel must meet the following requirements:
•
Be clean, fresh, unleaded petrol.
•
Octa ne number at least RON 91
•
Ethanol content maximum 10% (E10)
Use unleaded petrol with a maximum of 10 percent ethanol by volume (E10) or 5 percent methanol by
volume. Methanol must contain co-solvents and corrosion inhibitors. Using fuels with a higher ethanol
or methanol content than is specified above can result in starting and/or performance problems. It can
also cause damage to metal, rubber, and plastic parts of the fuel system. The manufacturer’s warranty
will become invalid if fuel with higher ethanol or methanol proportions than specified above is used,
or if substandard quality fuel is used.
5.3.2.
Lubricants specification
NOTE
Avoid mixing oils from different brands. Compatibility problems could arise. Increased wear or
engine damage may occur. Use oil of the same type from the same manufacturer.
The intervals between two oil changes depend on the fuel quality. For this reason, use only the
recommended fuels.
For optimal performance, we recommend oils with a Briggs & Stratton warranty certificate. Other
high-quality HD oils with the classification “for service SF, SG, SH, SJ” or higher are permissible.
Do not use special additives.
The ambient temperatures determine the proper oil viscosity for the engine. Use the following dia-
gram to select the best viscosity for the expected temperature range.
For this, refer to the operating manual of the engine manufacturer.
