If the battery is d ischarged, the
engine should be started with
ju m p e r cables and the (12 V)
battery of another vehicle.
The battery is located in the trun k
behind the right-hand cover panel.
Jum p Starting
W arning!

can lead to a b attery explosion
and personal injury.
Read all instructions before
proceeding.
1. Position the ve h icle with the
ch arged battery so th at the
ju m p e r ca bles w ill reach, but
never let the ve hicles touch.
M ake sure the ju m p e r cables
do not have loose or m issing
insulation.
2. On both vehicles:
• Turn off eng in e and all lights
and a ccessories, e xcept
hazard w arning flashers or
w ork lights.
• A p p ly parking brake and
shift se le cto r lever to
position ” P ” .
Proceed as follow s:
3. C lam p one end of the first
ju m p e r cable to the positive
( + ) term inal of the discharged
battery and the other end to the
positive ( + ) term inal of the
charged battery. M ake sure the
cable clam ps do not touch any
o ther m etal parts.
4. C lam p one end of the second
ju m p e r cable to the grounded
negative (-) term inal of the
ch arge d battery and the final
connection to the negative (-)
term inal of the discharged
battery. M ake sure the cables
are not on or near pulleys, fans,
or other parts that will m ove
w hen the engine is started.
