8.2 - Sharpening and Replacing Counter-Knife and Top Knife
The MENTA ATMF 3.2 counter knife has a long durability.Replacement should only be done in two
situations: excessive wear due to excessive sharpening, as this gradually removes the tempering
layer, or in the event of irreparable damage caused by objects such as stones, logs, irons, etc.
Already the upper counter knife, has the option of using sides, when there is natural wear on the
side, use the 2nd and consequently the 3rd and 4th.For a good knife sharpening follow the
instructions below:

A) With the equipment turned off,
place the support necessary to perform
the procedure safely.

B) Remove the Support Wheels (05) so that the platforms can
pivot.
C) Remove latch (06) and (07), articulate harvester front for
easy access to counter knife
D) Remove the screws (08) and sharpen the counter knife
(09).The cutting angle of the counter knife is straight, then clean
the counter knife holder using a hand file.
E) Mount the counter knife by adjusting it with the knives,
leaving looseness of 1.5 to 2.0 mm.This procedure is for all rotor
knives.
F) Place the upper counter knife (10), in the hole indicated by
the inside of the rotor case, fix the screw (11) and the washer
(12).

eyes using goggles and other personal
protective equipment (PPE).
