4.9.1 - PICKUP CARDAN
CARDAN LENGTH:
The gimbal length adjustment must occur when the distance between the machine and the
tractor does not allow coupling. In this case, the cut should be done according to the
manufacturer's instructions.
To check whether gimbal cutting is necessary, proceed as follows:
1.
Drive the hydraulic and lift the machine until the drive shaft aligns with the tractor PTO.
2.
Separate the two parts of the gimbal (male and female).
3.
Couple the side with the solid bar (male) on the harvester and the tubular side (female) on the
tractor.
4.
Place the two parts (male and female) parallel. In this position there should
be a looseness of
about 30 mm in the gimbal.
If the cardan is long, it will be necessary to make the cut, proceeding as follows:
1.
Remove the plastic protection from the gimbal.
2.
Couple the part containing the solid bar (male) in the harvester and the part with the tubular
bar (female) in the tractor.
3.
Mark where the cuts will be made, leaving a looseness of approximately 30 millimeters at
each end, as shown in the following figures.
