Replacing a Control Board (sCTRL)
The sCTRL board is installed on the rear panel of the chassis. It provides the system user interface
of the management ports (Ethernet and Serial). It also includes a Reset button for the chassis.
The Vantage 8500 chassis is pre-assembled at the factory with the sCTRL board installed.
To replace an sCTRL board:
1. Remove all cables connected to the sCTRL board.
2. Loosen the screws that secure the board to the chassis slot.
3. Remove the board by sliding it out of the chassis.
When using a drill-like electric screwdriver to fasten the board screws in place, do not
use more than Torque 2 force (6 lb. in) as this could damage the screws.
