WARNINGS & SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Do not

 use this product without first reading and understanding the instructions contained in this booklet. If you 

are unable to understand the Warnings, Cautions or Instructions, contact a healthcare professional, durable medical 

equipment dealer or technical personnel, or contact Medline at 1-800-Medline.

Do not

 self propel yourself in the Translator while seated.

Consult with your doctor, physical or occupational therapist or other qualified professional regarding the proper height 

adjustment for maximum support and correct brake activation.

Do not

 exceed the maximum weight capacity of 250 lbs. The weight capacity includes the weight of the rider plus any 

items carried or supported by the rider or in the attached bags.

Before each use make sure the Translator frame is fully opened and in a stable position. Check the brakes for proper 

operation. Make sure that all parts are secure and that moving parts are in good working order.

All wheels must be in contact with the floor/ground at all times. This will ensure the Translator is properly balanced.

Do not

 hang anything from the Translator handles or frame. This may cause the Translator to tip, resulting in bodily 

injury or Translator damage.

Before moving from standing to sitting/sitting to standing, the brakes must be in the locked position.

Do not

 sit on the seat when the Translator is on an incline.

Do not

 use the Translator in a vehicle for transport. This Translator has not been approved as a seat surface to be used 

within a vehicle of any kind.

Do not

 use the Translator while weight training. Medline Translators have not been tested for any type of weight training. 

Do not

 attempt to bounce, hop, jump and/or leap while using the rollator function.

Do not 

use the seat without the backrest in place. The backrest sling should always be positioned to support your back 

when sitting on the Translator.

Do not

 use the Translator on streets or roadways. Crossing streets should be done with care and in accordance with all 

safety and traffic laws.

Do not

 use the Translator on loose, slippery, or uneven surfaces such as sand, gravel, hills, dirt roads, or ice.

Do not

 use the Translator on inclines greater than 10% (6 degrees) without assistance or caretaker present.

Do not

 attempt to ride over curbs or obstacles.

Do not

 use the Translator on stairs or escalators.

GENERAL WARNINGS & SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

ENvIRONmENTAL

TO ENSURE YOUR SAFETY IN USING THE MEDLINE TRANSLATOR THE FOLLOWING SAFETY INFORMATION AND 

ALL INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS 

SET FORTH MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY TO YOU OR DAMAGE TO THE TRANSLATOR.

WARNINGS & SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Do not 

stand on the frame of the Translator.

Do not

 stand or put pressure on the footrests. When getting in or out of the Translator, make sure to swing the footrests 

to the back position and lock them into the safety clips located on the side of the Translator.

Do not

 attempt to lift the Translator by any detachable or removable parts.

There are potential pinch point areas at moving parts and between the seat frame and the seat cradles on some models. 

Keep hands and fingers away from all moving parts. When opening the translator, push down on the seat rails with your 

palms flat and fingers away from the seat rail.

Do not

 sit in the Translator until the seat is completely in the open position and locked into the black plastic seat cradles 

on all four corners.

The Translator should be on a stable, level surface with the wheel locks securely engaged before transferring into or out 

of the Translator.

Do not

 transfer in or out of the Translator on your own unless you have sufficient upper body strength, balance and 

agility and have been instructed in transfer techniques by a healthcare professional. Before transfer make sure that 

wheels are locked and footrests are in the back position and securely attached to the side of the translator.

Do not

 use the wheel locks or hand grip locks to stop or slow the Translator. Wheel locks are not brakes.

Take extreme caution if you change direction when going down an incline as this could cause instability or tipping.

When seated, do not lean forward out of the Translator any farther than the length of the armrests.

Any person assisting the rider in maneuvering of the Translator must be adequately trained, have sufficient strength and 

be able to see obstacles in the path of travel.

When cleaning the hand grips, use only a clean towel lightly dampened with cool water. Ensure the hand grips are dry 

before use.

If the Translator is exposed to extreme temperatures, high humidity and/or becomes wet, check the hand grips to ensure 

they are not loose and do not twist on the handle.

Avoid storing or using the Translator near open flames or combustible products.

Do not

 attempt to lean back on the Translator to reach for something behind you.

Always sit squarely on seat upholstery with your back upright and against the backrest.

Do not

 sit on front or side edge of seat, always sit in center of seat.

Do not

 sit at an angle on the seat.

Do not 

attempt to have more than one person seated in the Translator at a time.
