To display these messages in detail, swipe down with a fi nger from the top of the
screen.
Some of these notifi cations can be tapped to open applications or to get more
information.
Quick settings
The
Quick settings
provide a rapid way to perform frequently used settings.
− You can call these up by swiping down twice from the top of the screen with your
fi nger.
− Each setting has its own icon and a title. Tapping on the icon usually switches the
setting on or off.
For instance, you can quickly enable or disable
Wi-Fi
.
− Tapping on the title takes you to the actual settings, for instance, to the
confi guration settings for the
Wi-Fi.
Making/checking the settings
To change the system settings on your Android device, e.g. to confi gure the Wi-Fi,
administer applications or set a password, open the
Settings
application.
Software updates
Occasionally, the software on your device needs an update to correct any errors or
to make improvements. This is usually carried out via the Internet and requires only
your consent to be installed. You are notifi ed automatically about the availability via
the status bar of the device. You can also check for updates yourself by running the
Updater
application. Individual applications are usually automatically updated via
the Google Play Store.
