to achieve an integer
number of bit
samples, e.g., when
the bandwidth

channel data rate is
300 bps, the
effective bandwidth
used is 8 times
higher, 2.4 kbps.
2.4 kbps translate to
3 allocation units.
Therefore, the effect
of oversampling is to
increase the
bandwidth used to
transfer low-rate
channels.
