McLaren 570S vs. Aston Martin V12 Vantage S

The McLaren 570S produces more power per litre from it’s 3.8 litre twin turbocharged V8 than the Vantage from it’s 5.9
litre V12, (150PS vs. 97PS per litre) and when considering vehicle weight, 570S also delivers a far better power-to-weight
ratio (DIN lightest 405PS vs. 344PS per tonne)

Sports series achieves the better power-to-weight ratio by utilising the new Carbon Fibre MonoCell II chassis (weighing just
75Kg) whereas the Vantage continues to use the same aluminium chassis (VH architecture) that was present since launch,
nearly a decade ago

When comparing an equivalent weight 570S can weigh up to 250Kg less than the V12 Vantage S

Despite a small advantage in power, the Aston Martin is shown to be considerably slower when accelerating (0.7 seconds
slower to 100 km/h for example)

The Vantage shape remains very similar to the first cars delivered back in 2006 and could be mistaken for a V8 vantage
(around £60,000 cheaper)

570S represents far better efficiency; 94g/CO2 less and 7.4 miles more per gallon (combined)

