Steering
01 Description
An Electro-hydraulic steering rack maximises feel compared to a
fully electric system.
02 Customer Benefits
The Sports Series steering rack has been designed with
refinement and feel as the key parameters. Electro-Hydraulic
power steering is utilised throughout the McLaren range and is
again here with the Sports Series insuring a natural feel that can
not be replicated with a fully electric setup.
The quick steering rack ratio has been chosen to allow quick
changes of direction and to improve ease of control when
driving at the vehicles limits, all pivotal to a great Sportscar.
Changing Handling modes between N/S/T varies the amount of
steering assistance. Assistance decreases in Sport and then again
further in Track mode. Combined with the changes to damping,
steering feel increases in both Sport and Track modes.

The steering rate is fixed and doesn’t vary between handling
modes.
