Doors
01 Description
Dihedral doors as featured on every McLaren road car we’ve
ever produced, now with a greater operating range and
multi-layer design to assist air flow into the engine air intakes
and radiators.
02 Customer Benefits
Dihedral doors offer a larger opening and a hinge position
that is clear of the feet swing area, thus aiding ingress and
egress. The Sports Series door kinematics benefits from a
greater operating range, effectively giving the occupant more
space to enter and exit the vehicle.
The doors are produced primarily from aluminium to keep
weight low despite the intricate design. The upper tendon is
manufactured using a resin injection process to deliver an
extremely rigid yet slender component, along with a
lightweight core to minimise weight. To keep the exterior
surfaces clear the door open button is also located on the
lower edge of the tendon.

03 Options & Limitations
The door insert panel is finished in dark palladium as standard
on all Coupé models. As an MSO Defined option, this area can
be selected in Carbon Fibre.
