ESC
01 Description
The McLaren ESC system is updated with Bosch ESC 9.0
premium for greater car control in extreme conditions and
includes a ‘Dynamic ESP’ setting.
02 Customer Benefits
Bosch ESC 9.0 premium has been selected for use on all
Sports Series models. Considerable development time has
been spent creating a bespoke application just for Sports
Series and includes a Dynamic ESC setting to allow vehicle
control on the limit. With an improved pump and dual
valve system the ESC system is refined and provides
greater resolution and thus more progressive control. The
ESC system for the first time includes a dedicated control
switch, allowing ESC control independently to the handling
control dial. This allows the choice of full, dynamic or ESC-
off when in Sport and Track handling modes.
New Performance Traction Control incorporates bespoke
McLaren software to deliver more precise control in
extreme situations. In Dynamic mode the traction control
allows a gradual transition at the point of slip (YAW angle)
and therefore more confidence to explore Sports Series at
the limits of its handling.
CHASSIS
03 Options & Limitations
ESC Dynamic modes are not available in the Normal handling
mode, the driver must first select Sport or Track handling
mode. Every time the vehicle is restarted the ESC system is
fully active as default. ABS, brake pre-fill, disc wiping and brake
steer are always active regardless of handling or ESC mode.
