Connecting to the Mobile EXTender
This page provides the necessary information to configure the PBXgateway II with the Mobile EXTender.
This software feature allows the routing of incoming calls bounded to road warriors’ offices to their cellular
or analog phones, and allows these employees to access most commonly used PBX features from
anywhere.
Associated Voice
The PBXgateway II is capable of utilizing the second PBX channel (CH2) associated with each phone
port to carry the “associated voice” for the Mobile EXTender. The Norstar system does not support
secondary channels. It is necessary to configure another digital port as a Trunk port to carry associated
voice.
Note: The Mobile EXTender is supported by the DEFINITY, Meridian and Norstar protocols only.
Prerequisites for Configuration
The PBX B2 channel (CH2) associated with the port assigned to the Mobile EXTender, MUST be con-
figured for analog voice. (Refer to the PBXgateway II System Administrator’s Guide for more information)
