1. Application
Safety belts are used by the user for siting
workplaces and for work stability. They may only
be used for purely retaining functions and/or for
holding back. In principle, falls can be ruled out
when using this system. When working where
there is a risk of a fall, a capture system in
accordance with EN 363 has to be used.
2. Applying the safety belt
1. Open all close-offs.
2. Place the safety belt around the
abdomen.
3. Lock abdominal belt and set according to
the size of the body.
4. Fix the ends of the straps through the
strap clips.
After setting the safety belt, check that no belt
straps are twisted, all closures are locked and sit
properly.
Important:
Before using for the first time, make sure that
you know how the retaining belt works.
3. Notes on use
This equipment may be used only within
the in-service conditions as stipulated and the
planned intended purpose.
The use of this equipment is permitted to
trained or expert persons only or use is subject
to direct expert monitoring.
There must be no health problems
present (alcohol, drugs, medication, heart or
circulation problems).
Furthermore, it must be considered
before the use of this equipment how a possibly
necessary rescue can be realized safely
(emergency - rescue plan).
Personal protective (retaining) equipment
should be made available to the user personally.
Before each use, check all of the
personal protective (retaining) equipment,
devices which are damaged should not be used
(function check).
For your own safety, get
another person to check whether your safety
belt is correctly set.
Note the correct composition of the
overall PPE, since incorrect combinations of
equipment parts with regard to each other
(compatibility) can impair the secure functioning.
Changes or extensions may not be carried out
without prior written approval from the
manufacturer. In the same way, all repairs may
be carried out only in agreement with the
manufacturer.
Do not expose to acids, oils and
corrosive chemicals, and if this is unavoidable,
rinse off immediately after use and have
equipment tested by an expert.
Protect against sharp-edged objects.
Textiles are to be protected against heat
higher than 60°C. Attention is to be paid to
melting of the webbing. Weld bead markers are
also to be considered as melting.
Avoid any corrosion danger and extreme
heat and cold. Anchor point:
As a basic principle, falls and free
suspension in the safety belt must be ruled out.
Anchor point:
In accordance with EN 795, the attachment point
must withstand a minimum strength of 10 kN.
On no account should the attached object have
sharp edges, as through this, the safety belt
connector will be damaged. In this case,
additional equipment should be used, such as
an edge protector, a protector tube etc.
The safety belt connectors should be attached
with two strands and set tight enough so that it is
impossible for the user to free fall.
The attachment point for the safety belt
connectors must be located above the waist.
The connectors must remain taught and free
movement should be limited to 0.60 m.
3.1 Safety belt
Type B4 or B 4 Quick
Safety belts without fixed connectors should only
be used in combination with adjustable
connectors. In this combination, it is important
that the instructions for the adjustable retaining
connectors are observed and in connection with
everything else, compatibility with one another is
ensured. Before climbing, the user clasps the
adjustable connector into a side retaining eye of
the safety belt.
