Example 2 The following command sequence performs a frequency step from 60Hz to 62.0Hz, then
ramps down at 1.6Hz/sec to 51.3Hz
RES
<- selects prefault state
F1S I
<- select variable frequency (internal) mode for frequency 1
FVS 7 1
<- assign Va, Vb, and Vc, variable frequency 1
FR1 60 1
<- set frequency 1 to 60 Hz for prefault state
RFR 62 51.3 1.6
<- ramp from 62Hz to 51.3Hz with a ramp rate of 0.3Hz
PRF1
<- prefault V&I on
STR
<- start ramp
Example 3 The following command sequence sets the output of all voltages and currents in all fault states
to 400Hz.
RES
<- selects prefault state
F2S I
<- set frequency 2 to variable frequency mode
FR2 400 1
<- set frequency 1 to 400 Hz for prefault state
FR2 400 2
<- set frequency 1 to 400 Hz for fault state
7.2.8 RS-232 Control
Command
Description
LF1 Line
Feed
On
•
Sets auto line feeds (ASCII 10) after carriage returns (ASCII 13) on
•
In the ‘on’ state, a line feed code is sent at the end of every line output by the
instrument. Some computers, terminals and printers require this code to print
output on successive lines.
LF0 Line
Feed
Off
•
Sets auto line feed off
•
This command turns off the transmission of line feeds (ASCII 10) after each
carriage return (ASCII 13)
CR0
Carriage Return Off
•
Don’t append CR to LF on output
CR1
Carriage Return On
•
Do append CR to LF on output
The MTS-3000 can communicate in two conversational modes: Program mode or Terminal mode. The
mode is controlled by the following two commands:
PGM Program
mode
•
The program mode is used for direct computer control of the MTS-3000.
In this mode, characters sent to the MTS-3000 are not echoed back to the
terminal or computer. Communication on the interface is effectively limited to
one direction at a time.
