MAINTENANCE
IMPORTANT TIGHTENING TORQUES:
In order to prevent costly repairs, check mounting
bolts at frequent intervals for proper tightness.
Make sure your attachment is in safe working
condition.
Before each use, verify the tightening torques
mentioned below.
IMPORTANT:
Unless otherwise specified, torque all bolts according
to torque specification table (see table of contents).
Refer to parts breakdown section for part
identification.
Engine base:
Place the extra strong thread locker on the ten hex.
bolts 5/16" n.c. x 1" GR5 (
item A&B)
and tighten them
with the following torque
:
20.5 lbs

Electric clutch:
Tighten the hex. bolt 7/16" n.f. x 1 1/2" GR5
(item C)
with the torque below
:
45 lbs

Hub assembly :
Place the extra strong thread locker on the hex. bolts
1/2" n.f. x 2" GR8
(item D)
of the hub and tighten the
four nylon insert lock nuts with the following torque:
120 lbs

Pulley and blades assembly:
Place the extra strong thread locker on the threads of
the hub and tighten them with the two nylon insert lock
nut 1" n.c. (item E) using the following torque
:

Blades :
Place the extra strong thread locker on the bolts (item
F) and the stump jumper thread (item F).
Using a vise, immobilize the stump jumper to keep it
from rotating. Tighten the nylon insert lock nuts
3/4’’ (item F) against the stump jumper (without
restraining the blades from rotating) with the torque
below:

WARNING

Do not operate cutter with loose hardware. Loose
hardware can result in a breakdown causing serious
injury or death.
